GeForce NOW Gets Faster: Linux Release and This Week's Biggest Games

GeForce NOW keeps getting better

This week brings GFN.CO.KR members improvements to the cloud service alongside a major new release and two substantial game updates. The native GeForce NOW app for Linux has officially left beta, DLSS Frame Generation in the cloud now feels more responsive, and fresh content is available in Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, Genshin Impact and Overwatch.

The native GeForce NOW app for Linux is out of beta

After months of testing and refinements shaped by community feedback, the native GeForce NOW app for Linux has reached its full release. The update focuses on performance, stability and a more polished day-to-day experience.

The app continues to support Ubuntu 24.04 and later. A new Flatpak repository also makes initial setup and future updates easier, so users can keep the client current with less effort.

Rendering takes place in the cloud, allowing Linux players to access modern GeForce RTX performance without upgrading local hardware, wrestling with compatibility issues or relying on complicated workarounds. The app and setup instructions are available on the official GeForce NOW download page.

Lower latency with DLSS Frame Generation

GeForce NOW has also optimized DLSS Frame Generation in the cloud. The change reduces latency and makes controls feel more immediate, which is especially valuable in fast-paced games where every mouse movement, camera turn and button press matters.

The improvement is most noticeable when streaming at 60 or 120 frames per second in 1440p and 4K. Motion feels smoother while the game responds more quickly, helping action games, racers and competitive matches feel more natural.

Hell Let Loose: Vietnam brings large-scale warfare to the jungle

The week’s biggest new release is Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, a tactical multiplayer shooter built around massive 50-vs-50 battles on maps inspired by locations from the Vietnam War.

Players join either the North Vietnamese Army or the US Armed Forces, choose a specialized combat role and operate as part of a coordinated unit. Success depends on communication, following the chain of command and using each side’s equipment intelligently rather than simply chasing eliminations.

Battles unfold across dense jungles, mountain passes and river routes. US forces can deploy helicopters for fire support and supply drops, while North Vietnamese units can construct tunnel networks for surprise attacks. Patrol boats, ground vehicles and period weaponry add even more tactical options.

Streaming through the cloud means players can enter these demanding, large-scale battles without a lengthy local installation or a high-end gaming PC. The server handles the detailed environments, vehicles and crowded firefights while the player streams the result to a supported device.

Genshin Impact v7.0 opens Snezhnaya

Version 7.0 begins a major new chapter of the journey across Teyvat by opening Snezhnaya, a northern nation shaped by relentless cold and snowstorms. Railways connect its remote settlements with Snezhnaya-Grad, a bustling capital that is also home to the Fatui headquarters.

The update continues the main story with a new Archon Quest and adds frozen areas to explore, limited-time events and fresh mechanics. Odette, a renowned ballerina, and Alyosha, a hunter who fights alongside his loyal hound, join the playable roster.

Combat also expands with a new reaction that combines Cryo and Anemo to create an intensifying stellar storm. It offers new possibilities in battle and helps players interact with the environment while exploring Snezhnaya.

When playing through the cloud, there is no need to download the large update or free up storage space: the current version is prepared on the server.

Overwatch Season 4: Heroes of Busan

Overwatch Season 4: Heroes of Busan puts the Korean MEKA squad in the spotlight. Its headline addition is D.Mon, the team’s leader and a new Tank hero who fights at close range with a Plasma Saber and protects allies with a Power Barrier.

The season also introduces the My MEKA Mania event and a redesigned Battle Pass that gives players more choice over which reward track to complete first. Eligible Legendary rewards can also be exchanged for an item from a curated Swap Pool.

Competitive play receives a new Emerald rank, a rank reset and Team Drives, which reward players for grouping up and continuing to play together.

The improvements and new content are already here. Choose what to play next and launch it through GFN.CO.KR on a supported device.
